Team DIY @ Home

What We Need to Understand Your DIY Project

Before we book your Team DIY @ Home session, we need some details so we assess suitability and plan properly, ensuring we bring the right tools and make the most of our time together.  You don’t need to be technical and nothing has to be perfect as the next step is about helping us (and you!) get a clear picture of what you want to learn, build, or fix.

The more you can share now, the smoother and more productive your session will be.

1. Project Overview

Have a short description of what you want to learn or achieve. It doesn’t need to be perfect — just the main task or goal.
Examples: fix shelving to a gib wall, build a 1m x 1m planter box, learn to fit skirting

2. Measurements (Just the Basics)

Measurements help us understand the scale of the job.  Width, height, depth, or length of the items or area is usually enough. No technical drawings needed (at this stage).

3. Photos of the Space

Photos help confirm what’s involved and what tools or materials may be needed.

  • One wide shot of the whole area

  • A few close-ups of problem spots, fittings, or anything already installed

4. Tools & Materials You Already Have

Let us know what’s in your toolkit, including:

  • Hand or power tools

  • Measuring, squaring, levelling equipment

  • Any materials you’ve already purchased or have to hand and their condition (old, new) and any fixtures and fittings (nails, screws, glue, etc)

5. Budgets and Timing

What’s your budget? DIY often takes longer than you imagine especially if you’ve never done it before.  Preparation work in particular is usually a time staking necessity.

Timewise… Have a sense of your preferred timing — ideal days, urgency, or deadlines and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

What’s next?

If you have these details ready, the next step is to contact us. We suggest emailing first with these details then we’ll get in touch with the next steps.  We can’t promise we’ll be able to do every job we receive but if we can’t help you, we’ll do our best to connect you with someone who can.
