Workshops and Locations
Building Skills. Building Community.
A new chapter for WomenzShed
WomenzShed wants to give women the confidence, skills, and access to woodworking skills. We recently lost access to our Auckland workshop space, which has reduced the number and range of woodworking sessions we can offer but rather than pause our work, we’re adapting and growing in new ways:
Auckland: Mobile Workshops (Now Booking)
While we work toward securing a new permanent workshop, WomenzShed is actively delivering mobile woodworking workshops across Auckland.
Our mobile service brings tools, materials, and expert guidance directly to participants’ homes or community spaces. It’s ideal for:
- One-on-one or small group learning
- Beginner-friendly woodworking projects
- Women wanting hands-on skills in a comfortable, familiar environment
Book an Auckland mobile workshop to keep learning, building, and creating.
Wellington Region: Trial Workshops in Ōtaki
We’re excited to share that WomenzShed is trialling in-person workshops in the Wellington region, with sessions currently running in Ōtaki.
This pilot is an important step in expanding access to women-focused woodworking education beyond Auckland. Places are limited while we test this new location.
If you’re based in Wellington or nearby, this is your chance to:
- Attend a WomenzShed workshop in person
- Build practical woodworking skills
- Support the expansion of our programme into new regions
Help Us Build a New Auckland Workshop
We are actively fundraising to establish a new, permanent WomenzShed workshop in Auckland where women can learn, connect, and build consistently.
Your support will help us:
- Secure a long-term workshop space
- Restore a full programme of hands-on training
- Keep workshops affordable and inclusive
- Support women’s wellbeing, confidence, and community connection
Every donation brings us closer to reopening our doors.
